On May 17-19, 2022 in Guzanli, Aghdam region by the financial support of the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, "Miras" Public Union for the Study of Cultural Heritage, Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art, Amasya University of Turkey and Aghdam region Executive Power "Hamza Nigari" V International Symposium, dedicated to the Year of Shusha was held. Scientists of ANAS Institute of Literature after Nizami Ganjavi - Doctors of Philology Tahira Mammad, Parvana Bakir gizi, Khuram Hummatova, PhD in Philology Zahra Allahverdiyeva also attended the symposium.
On May 18, the Symposium continued its work in four sections in two halls at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Guzanli. The symposium was attended by more than 200 scholars and researchers from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Italy, Iran, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Northern Macedonia. Reports were heard on topics such as Caucasus Studies, Karabakh Studies, Shusha City Studies, Restoration and Conservation Studies, Literature Studies, and Art Studies.An exhibition of paintings and decorative works by students of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts and the Azerbaijan State University of Economics dedicated to Karabakh and Hamza Nigari was demonstrated during the symposium.
On May 19, the symposium participants visited historical and cultural monuments in the liberated Aghdam and villages of the Aghdam region, including the Garapirimli khanage in the village of Garapirimli and the grandmother Nigar's shrine.
