On January 8, Academician Isa Habibbayli, ANAS President met with Jinfeng Ji, General Secretary of the Academic Committee of China European International Cooperation.
Academician Isa Habibbeyli, who spoke at the meeting held at the Presidium of ANAS, emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and China have been at a high level in recent years, and Azerbaijan supports the "One Belt, One Road" project put forward by China, which is of great economic importance for our country. Academician Isa Habibbayli noted that international transport routes such as East-West and North-South pass through the territory of our country, and in this regard, Azerbaijan is one of the important economic partner states for the countries of the world, including China.
Stating that the economic relations between our countries have further expanded after the commissioning of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line, the head of ANAS said that the opening of the Zangezur Corridor will have a positive effect on the economic relations between Europe and Asia, as well as between China and Europe.
Academician Isa Habibbayli, who also spoke about the cooperation relations in the scientific and cultural field, informed about his visits to the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, lectures to scientists and young researchers of China's leading scientific and educational institutions. He also pointed out that the Chinese Cultural Center operates in the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS, that the center's coordinator, Nargiz Karimova, wrote a Ph.D. dissertation dedicated to Chinese literature, as well as that the Chinese language is taught in the institute. The head of the Azerbaijani language department of Beijing Foreign Languages University, PhD in philology, associate professor Agshin Aliyev said that ANAS has made a special contribution to the development of relations with scientific institutions of China.
Academician Isa Habibbeyli pointed out that ANAS is interested in establishing a cooperative relationship with the China European Academic Committee for International Cooperation, organizing joint scientific conferences and participating in grant projects.
Jinfeng Ji, general secretary of China European Academic Committee for International Cooperation, gave detailed information about the institution he heads. He noted that the organization he represents is engaged in activities aimed at establishing relations between scientific institutions and educational institutions operating in China and European countries. He also said that the Committee is a commercial organization that supports the cooperation of Chinese scientists with world scientists, and the organization's activities are mainly focused on organizing the participation of foreign scientists in China's state grant contests, as well as Chinese scientists in international grant contests, supporting young scientists, and conducting joint scientific events.
Jinfeng Ji pointed out that necessary conditions will be created for Azerbaijani scientists after the establishment of cooperative relations between the organization he leads and ANAS.
Later, they exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and discussed opportunities for cooperation.
Then the Chinese guest got acquainted with the building of ANAS Presidium and took a commemorative photo.
The guest also visited the Chinese Cultural Center at the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature of ANAS and received detailed information about the center's activities.
