Under the auspices of the Academy's Humanities and Social Sciences Departments, a scientific conference on the topic "Azerbaijanism and modern times in the teaching of statehood of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev" was conducted at the Presidium of ANAS.
Academician Isa Habibbeyli, President of the ANAS, Vice-Presidents of the ANAS, advisers of the ANAS, Department leaders of the ANAS Presidium, general directors of scientific institutions and organizations, chairmen of regional party organizations, and ANAS young scientists attended the event.
Academician Isa Habibbeyli addressed the conference by reminding participants that ANAS was assigned tasks in the President's Order dated November 28, 2022, "On the approval of the Plan of Actions regarding the declaration of 2023 as the "Year of Heydar Aliyev" in the Republic of Azerbaijan." and stated that in 2023, the Academy will execute a large-scale Action Plan in this regard. He stated that more than 40 fundamental monographs were produced by the ANAS institutions of the Humanities and Social Sciences departments by systematically investigating the multifaceted rich life and activities of the Great Leader, and with this the Academy scientists revealed the scientific foundations of Heydar Aliyev studies.
According to Academician Isa Habibbeyli, "Heydar Aliyev Encyclopedia" is being prepared as one of the fundamental publications at ANAS, the dictionary of the encyclopedia is currently being finalized after extensive discussions, and the publication will be presented to the public by the end of 2024. It is emphasized that it is scheduled to be completed.
The President of ANAS further emphasized that various events, conferences, seminars, and exhibitions were held in the Academy during the "Year of Heydar Aliyev," and that our scientists published comprehensive pieces in the press regarding the Great Leader's legacy.
Academician Isa Habibbayli, who spoke about the great leader's historical services to the state of Azerbaijan, highlighted that the magnificent statesman prepared our people for Azerbaijan's future freedom even throughout the years of Soviet domination. By regaining power in Azerbaijan during the years of independence, the state became the rescuer of our freedom and provided stability in the country by putting an end to bloodshed.
He pointed out that the "Contract of the Century" implemented at the initiative of a prominent statesman brought economic independence to Azerbaijan, turned our country into one of the main factors in the European energy market, and Azerbaijan gained reliable partners and friendly countries.
