Recently scientific relations between Azerbaijan and China are developing intensively. Mutual trips and concluded agreements help to expand this collaboration. The foundation of our relations with China during the period of independence was laid by the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev's official visit to China on March 7-10, 1994. That policy is being continued successfully by the president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
There are carrying out a lot of works in the direction of developing mutual scientific relation between two countries in Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. Representative staff led by vice president of ANAS, academic Isa Habibbayli was in Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and held important debates related with future perspectives. Then the journey of representative staff led by the president of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences to our country was very substantial.
In this context, Deputy Director of the Institute of Philosophy of the IEA, Professor Cui Veihang, Head of the Department, Professor Lihe He and his colleague Zhou Chunmin visited our country. Vice-president of ANAS, academic Isa Habibbayli welcomed the guests, spoke comprehensively about future plans and works done for the development of our relations. At the same time, guests shared their opinions related with scientific investigation in China.
Then the guests got acquainted with the Center of Chinese Studies in the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS. The chief of the Department of Azerbaijan-Asia literary relations, Badirkhan Ahmadov gave information about the activity of the department. Coordinator of the Centre of Chinese Studies, Nargiz Karimova shared her impressions about Chinese language teaching. Then there were held debates in the centre.
