Interview of Academician Isa Habibbayli to "Yeni Shafak" newspaper

First Vice-President of ANAS, MP, Academician Isa Habibbayli gave an extensive interview to the Turkish newspaper Yeni Safak entitled "Nakhchivan Corridor - New Silk Road" devoted to the glorious victory in the Patriotic War.

The interview was published as a print and also electronic versions of the newspaper. Academician Isa Habibbayli spoke about the history of Karabakh, the settlement of Armenians there in the early 19th century, the essence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region, which was artificially created by the Bolshevik government in 1923.He stressed that the victory under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev is one of the most glorious events in the history of Azerbaijan :"The liberation of Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding areas by the heroic Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev is the most glorious and greatest event in the centuries-old history of Azerbaijan. Mr. President Ilham Aliyev entered the history of Azerbaijan as the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the Victorious President. This victory is, first of all, the victory of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the heroic Azerbaijani army and the great unity of our people.

Academician Isa Habibbayli noted that, the Azerbaijani-Turkish unity and brotherhood had reached an unshakable level in the Great Patriotic War, which could serve as an example for human history. Academician Isa Habibbeyli stressed the strategic importance of the road that, will pass through Nakhchivan and calling it as a new Silk Road for Azerbaijan and Turkey. 

At the end of the interview, academician Isa Habibbayli expressed confidence that Azerbaijan and Turkey will continue to act in the reconstruction of Karabakh on the basis of unity, equality and mutual trust.

"Yeni Shafak" newspaper also provided Turkish readers with numerous photos depicting various aspects of the Great Patriotic War.
