Satirical journal "Ari" and "Mirat" in the new alphabet

For the first time, the satirical journal "Ari" and "Mirat" were transliterated and published in bulk in the new alphabet.

In the Department of Press History and Journalism of the Institute of Literature after Nizami Ganjavi of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, the satirical journal "Ari" and "Mirat" were transliterated and published in bulk in the new alphabet for the first time. The sets of satirical journal "Ari" and "Mirat" were published by the decision of the 6th meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Literature on September 13, 2021.

The scientific editor of the collection is Vice-President of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Literature after Nizami Ganjavi, Academician Isa Habibbayli. The authors of the dictionary, notes, explanations, translators of the journal are the head of the Department of Press History and Journalism, Professor Vugar Ahmad and the researcher of the Department Dilbar Rzayeva.

Also, the author of the foreword "Socio-political conditions and satirical press in the early twentieth century" is Vugar Ahmad, the author of the study "History and literary-social landscape of the satirical journal" Ari" and "Mirat" Dilbar Rzayeva. The reviewers are PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Rauf Sadikhov and PhD in Philology Gulbaniz Babayeva.

"Ari" and "Mirat" journal are transphonoliterations of the satirical magazines "Ari" (1910-1911, number 13) and "Mirat" (1910, number 5) published in the beginning of the XX century from the Arabic graphic alphabet. The collection published by Ulu Publishing House is 430 pages.

It is possible to get acquainted with the socio-political, literary and cultural events of that period in the magazines. The collection can be used by researchers of literature, the history of our press, as well as doctoral students, dissertators, masters and bachelors. The book is intended for a wide range of readers.
