Badirkhan Ahmadov spoke at the event dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi

The documentary "Yugpurush Mahatma's Mahatma" and internationally renowned speaker Dr. Shobhana Radhakrishna's live presentation, "Mahatma Gandhi's Global Efforts for Truth, Non-Violence and Peace" was broadcast live.

The Indian Embassy in Azerbaijan organized an event on October 2 to mark the 152nd birthday of Mahatma Gandhi as part of the "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of the country's independence.

The event was attended by leading scientists of the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) and the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), including AUL Vice-Rector, Dr. Jala Garibova, members of the Indian Diaspora, media representatives and friends of India in Azerbaijan.

At the beginning of the event, a documentary titled “Yugpurush Mahatma’s Mahatma” prepared by the Council for Cultural Relations of India and an internationally renowned speaker Dr. Shobhana Radhakrishna's live presentation, "Mahatma Gandhi's Global Efforts for Truth, Non-Violence and Peace," was broadcast live.
Indian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Bavitlung Vanlalvavna spoke about the life and advice of Mahatma Gandhi and stressed that they are relevant in the modern world. Badirkhan Ahmadov, head of the Azerbaijani-Asian literary relations department at the Institute of Literature named after Nizami of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, spoke about the life and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi, and Orkhan Nabiyev, professor of regional studies at the Azerbaijan University of Languages, spoke on "Sacrifice and non-violence as Gandhi's philosophy and life".
The event also featured speeches by Indian children and Azerbaijani artists on Mahatma Gandhi.
