Jalil Mammadguluzadeh House Museum held an event dedicated to Mirza Alakbar Sabir's 160th anniversary of was at the. The event was attended by literary critics, artists and mass media.
Attending the event, ANAS Vice-President, Director of ANAS Institute of Literature after Nizami Ganjavi, Academician Isa Habibbayli, Professor Jahangir Mammadli touched upon several nuances in his speech devoted to the anniversary poet. The speeches told on Sabir's activity, esspeshialy on "Molla Nasreddin" journal, and Sabir's propaganda today.
Director of the Abdulla Shaig House Museum, PhD in Art History Ulker Talibzadeh also spoke on Sabir's work.
Chief researcher of the Museum Yegana Mammadova noted about the activities of the Museum, Sabir's propaganda in schools and universities. She said such events will be held more often.
The event was also attended by Honored Journalist, Professor Allahverdi Mammadli. He spoke about Sabir's innovation in the genre of satire, his style and relevance today. He noted the place of each of the "Molla Nasreddin" members in the country's culture.
At the event, under the leadership of Honored Teacher Malahat Babakishiyeva, students of school No. 150 recited poems by Sabir.
Soloist of the Azerbaijan Opera and Ballet Theater Elshan Mammadov and tar player Said Guliyev also concluded the event with musical performances.
