The 2nd Festival of Literature and Books of the Turkic World has today opened in the park of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

Anar Rzayev, chairman of the Writers' Union and a popular writer, kicked off the festival by discussing the value of literature in our life. According to him, the festival is being held with the intention of introducing the younger generation and kids to the pertinent literature that has been written in our nation recently, hence igniting their interest in reading.

Academician Nizami Jafarov underlined the President's assertion in his address that "we have no family other than the Turks." He claimed that Turkish literature has given rise to a number of notable authors and notable figures.
