ANAS Institute of Literature after Nizami Ganjavi held presentation of the fifth, sixth and ninth volumes of ten volumes "History of Azerbaijani Literature". In the fifth volume, the literature created in Azerbaijan in the 19th century, and in the sixth volume at the beginning of the 20th century was studied. The ninth volume deals with the literature of South Azerbaijan.

The event was opened by ANAS Vice-President, Director of the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature, Academician Isa Habibbayli. He said that "seven volumes have been published so far. This is a great achievement of the Institute of Literature. All departments are responsible for the work. Other volumes are expected to be published in a few months. These ten volumes can be the greatest gift for the 90th anniversary of our institute.

I believe that the writing of the ten-volume history of Azerbaijani literature is an event in the history of Azerbaijani literary studies. It is a great resource and direction for future research. Periodization and systematization work has also been carried out here, not only literary historical work, but also theoretical aspects. There are quite a few first-time essay authors.

The New Era Department of Azerbaijani Literature prepared the fifth and sixth volumes under the leadership of Islam Gharibli. The fifth volume covers the era of enlightened realism in Azerbaijani literature, the sixth volume covers the era of critical realism and romanticism in Azerbaijani literature. While preparing the volumes, the department again referred to the archive and press history.

The department of literature of South Azerbaijan prepared the ninth volume under the leadership of Rahim Aliyev. In this volume, not only the biographies and works of writers are covered, we have carried out a strict periodization. We have tried to give the essays according to that periodization. So far, no work of this volume has been published in our country related to the literature of South Azerbaijan.

The fundamental books, which are the product of collective scientific and creative work, have cost a lot of hard work. In these volumes, extensive overviews and comprehensive portrait-essays of each historical-literary phase are given."

Rahim Aliyev, head of South Azerbaijan literature department, Vugar Ahmed, head of press history and publicism department, Islam Gharibli, head of modern Azerbaijani literature department, spoke about the importance of publications and congratulated the team.
