An event dedicated to "November 8 - Victory Day" organized by the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature, the Academy's Council of Young Scientists and Specialists, was held. First, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played and the dear memory of our martyrs who died heroically in the 44-day Patriotic War was commemorated with a minute of silence.
Mehman Hasanli, Executive Director of ANAS Institute of Literature, Ph.D. in Philology, associate professor, opened the event and talked on the pride of the Victory Day: "The Patriotic War and our victory were not our goals, but our dreams. The Patriotic War was an example for the world. Among the employees of the Academy, there were also those who participated in the Patriotic War. We achieved victory as a result of the unity of our people around our Commander-in-Chief."
Then, the Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Experts of ANAS, the Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Experts of the Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry, Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry Elmir Babayev spoke about the activities of young scientists as intellectuals of the winning country.
At the event was shown a documentary, dedicated to captain Ruhin Mikayilov, a veteran of the 44-day Patriotic War. Captain Ruhin Mikayilov told on the history of Karabakh's struggle to victory and his war memories.
ANAS Vice-Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Experts, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Experts of the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature Shafa Aliyeva, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Experts of the Linguistics Institute after Nasimi, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Gunel Orujlu, Leyla Babazadeh, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute of History after Abbasgulu Agha Bakikhanov delivered the paper on "Our Glorious Historical Victory".
At the event, Ulviyya Gurbanova researcher of the Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry of ANAS and young scientists from other institutes shared their views on the history of our victory and the position of intellectuals in this matter.
