About 50 employees of the Institute of Literature after Nizami Ganjavi of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences visited Shusha, the cultural capital of Azerbaijan.

The main purpose of the visit, initiated by the Director of the Institute, Academician Isa Habibbayli, is to realize the dream of the Institute's staff to see Shusha, liberated from occupation as a result of the glorious victory of the Azerbaijani Army led by Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.

It is no coincidence that Shusha is one of the most important centers of Azerbaijani literature. Among our outstanding poets and writers Molla Panah Vagif, Khurshidbanu Natavan, Mir Mohsun Navvab, Najaf bey Vazirov, Suleyman Sani Akhundov, Uzeyir bey Hajibeyli, Ahmad bey Agaoglu, Jeyhun bey Hajibeyli, Yusif Vazir Chamanzaminli and many others. Taking into account the desire of every Azerbaijani citizen, including literary critics, to visit Shusha, which they have dreamed of for thirty years, the Institute of Literature, with the support of the trade union, organized a visit to the capital of culture.

The visit to Shusha was carried out taking advantage of the opportunities created by our state during its civil visits to Shusha. During the visit, employees of the institute visited the house and fountain of Khurshidbanu Natava, Shusha fortress, statues of Uzeyir bey Hajibeyli, Khurshidbanu Natavan and Bulbul in the Central Square, Bulbul's house-museum, Cidir plain and museum-mausoleum complex of Molla Panah Vagif.

AR President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree dated March 14, 2022 to mark the 190th anniversary of our outstanding poetess Khurshidbanu Natavan. In accordance with the order, a scientific session entitled "Khan gizi Khurshidbanu Natavan" dedicated to the prominent poetess was held in front of the statue of Khurshidbanu Natavan in the center of Shusha. Executive Director of the Institute, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Mehman Hasanli, Researcher of Natavan Heritage, Professor Islam Garibli, Doctor of Philology Mahira Guliyeva, Scientific Secretary of the Institute, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Aygun Bagirli, Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor Farida Hijran spoke at the event.

The visit to Shusha left a rich impression on the staff of the Institute of Literature. There is no doubt that these impressions will stimulate future scientific research.
