Within the framework of the "II Turkish World Literature and Book" festival an event on "Mahdimgulu Faraqi and Azerbaijani literature" devoted to the day of Turkmenistan under the auspices of the International Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation was held in Baku.
525.az reports that the representative of the Foundation, poet Farid Huseyn opened the event and noted about the activities of the organization in the direction of promoting the material and moral values of the Turkish world on an international scale. Stating that the Foundation attaches great importance to the protection and promotion of the rich heritage of the prominent personalities of the Turkish people, F. Huseyn emphasized that the work of Mahdimgulu Faragi, whose 300th anniversary will be celebrated next year is also constantly focused on by the Foundation.
Docent Ismikhan emphasized the importance of the event held by the Ottoman Foundation on the classic of Turkmen literature, Mahdimgulu Faraqi, and said that the poet's works are of great interest to Azerbaijani readers.
Department head of the Turkmenistan Academy of Sciences, Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts after Mahdimgulu Faraqi Rahmanberdi Godorov and Mejal Meredov, an employee of the Institute delivered a speech and expressed their appreciation for the works of the famous poet published in Azerbaijan, as well as numerous scientific studies written about him.
At the event, the poems by Mahdimgulu Faragi were performed by Javidan Safarli and Lamiya Aliyeva, employees of the Republic Children's Library after Firudin Bey Kocherli.
At the end, the participants of the event got acquainted with the exhibition of published books about the famous poet.
