ANAS Institute of Literature after Nizami Ganjavi hosted a presentation of the satirical journal "Bahlul", "Ari", "Mirat", "Kalniyet" and "Mashal" - the successors of the literary school "Molla Nasreddin". First, the exhibition was viewed in accordance with the theme of the event, and publications belonging to the Department of Press History and Journalism were displayed.
The presentation was opened by ANAS Vice-President, Director of the Institute of Literature after Nizami Ganjavi, Academician Isa Habibbayli. He said, “For the first time, these magazines were transliterated and published in the new alphabet. This work was carried out by the Department of Press History and Journalism of our Institute.
The event is attended by the director of the Jalil Mammadguluzadeh House Museum Yegana Mammadova and her staff, as well as the heads of departments of Baku State University Jahangir Mammadli and Allahverdi Mammadli. At the same time, masters and interns of our institute also participated in this event. Today's young people are the future researchers of such magazines as "Bahlul", "Ari", "Mirat", "Kalniyet" and "Mashal".
The Department of Press History and Journalism operates in several areas. One of them is to study the history of our press, not to look at the history of our press with fundamental research. The second major direction is journalism. The third major direction is to transpone and publish valuable works of our press history. Today we will introduce you to some of the publications prepared by this Department.
Doctor of Philology, Professor Vugar Ahmad and senior researcher Dilbar Rzayeva translated these satirical journal from Arabic graphics, bibliographic index, authors of notes, compiled and prepared for publication.
"Akinchi" newspaper and "Molla Nasreddin" journal were also transliterated. In this department, "Ziya" newspaper was translated by the late Mushtaba Aliyev and we published it. "Ziyayi-Qafqaziya" is ready for publication, we will publish it this year. The "Molla Nasreddin" encyclopedia was also prepared and published in that department. For the first time in Azerbaijan, an encyclopedia of a media outlet has been prepared. I owe it to myself to note the great activity of the department in this work, the great work of Vugar Ahmad and his team. This is a significant scientific service for the study of the history of the Azerbaijani press.
Then the head of the department of press history and journalism Vugar Ahmad delivered a report on "Molla Nasreddin traditions and satirical press." In addition, he noted that Turan Hasanzadeh incompletely transliterated the magazine "Kalniyyat". We have translated and printed from the original. We cherish the memory of Turan Hasanzadeh and emphasize his service. This is also an appreciation. Jesus mentions the suffering of the department, but Jesus is the author of the most difficult idea. The head of the Department of BSU, Professor Jahangir Mammadli, said, “I am grateful for this invitation. Today's publications are one of these traditions. This is the product of Jalil Mammadguluzadeh's genius".
Ulker Huseynova, a member of the Union of Journalists of Azerbaijan and an employee of the Institute of Literature, said: “In the first two decades of the twentieth century, there was a turning point in the Azerbaijani press. In 1903, the newspaper "Eastern-Russian" and in 1906, the magazine "Molla Nasreddin" were published and established its own school. The magazines we present can be considered analogous to "Molla Nasreddin".
