ANAS President and Kirkuk Culture Association President met.
The president of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbayli, met with the President of the Kirkuk Culture Association, Dr. Shamseddin Kuzechi, a well-known poet, writer, and researcher from Kirkuk.
During the meeting at the ANAS Praesidium, academician Isa Habibbeyli discussed the literary links between Azerbaijan and Kirkuk. He also initiated a thorough discussion regarding the current activities of the Academy's Coordination Council for Iraq-Turkman Studies. He stated that significant efforts have been made to investigate and organise the scientific-literary environment, history, language, ethnography, and folklore of the Iraqi-Turkmen more broadly.
The International Scientific Conference on "Iraqi-Turkmen folklore and literature," which is being held at the Central Scientific Library of ANAS on May 22 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of eminent Kirkuk literary critic Ata Tarzibashi, is being organised by Academician Isa Habibbayli. Furthermore, he underlined that scholar Isa Habibbeyli wrote the "Foreword" of the book devoted to Ata Tarzibashi, which was published by the ANAS publishing company "Elm."
In addition to thanking the ANAS administration for their hospitality, Kirkuk writer Shamseddin Kuzechi stated how important it is for mutual scientific and literary ties to grow.
Many points of view about the preparations for the international conference honouring the 530th anniversary of the renowned Azerbaijani poet Muhammad Fuzuli in Iraq were discussed at the meeting.
Then, academician Isa Habibbeyli, president of ANAS, received an honorary decree from the Kirkuk Culture Association in recognition of his contributions to the growth of literary ties between Kirkuk and Azerbaijan from renowned research scientist Shamseddin Kuzachi.
The Kirkuk Cultural Association extended a letter of gratitude to Dr. Agahuseyn Shukurov, chairman of the ANAS Presidium's publicity, information, and public relations department, for his efforts in promoting Ata Tarzibashi's legacy.
