The III Turkish World Literature and Book Festival hosted a panel dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Writers‘ Union (III LitBookFest)

Within the context of the III Turkish World Literature and Book Festival (III LitBookFest), which was hosted in the Academy of Sciences park in front of the main ANAS building, a panel honouring the 90th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union (AWU) was conducted.

The event was attended by writers, poets, and scientists in addition to academician Isa Habibbeyli, President of ANAS, People's writer Anar, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, Elchin Huseynbeyli, Deputy Chairman of AIB, Imdat Avshar, AIB's Turkish representative, and Professor Asif Rustamli, Head of the Department of Literature Institute named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS. The chairman of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, People's Writer Anar, opened the event, looking at the glorious path of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union in the past 90 years, and said that the institution he leads has exceptional services in the development of literature and literary studies in our country, as well as in raising the generation of writers.

The National Academy of Sciences and the Azerbaijan Writers' Union have been collaborating for many years to protect Azerbaijan's language, literature, and moral and national values, according to Academician Isa Habibbeyli, President of ANAS, who spoke afterward. According to him, the most well-known writers in our country have headed the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, which has always served the Azerbaijani ideology with honour and duty. He emphasised that the Azerbaijan Writers' Union displayed extraordinary bravery to defend our literature, sense of national identity, and mother tongue even under the worst of Soviet dictatorship.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli, who valued Anar's chairmanship of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, noted that he elevated the organisation to a new level in its operations, protected Azerbaijani literature, and made significant contributions to the growth of the next generation of our poets and writers.

Scholar Isa Habibbeyli called attention to the fact that the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature of ANAS is now working on a book that will honour the Azerbaijan Writers' Union's 90th anniversary.

Speakers on the panel included Elchin Huseynbeyli, the deputy chairman of Azerbaijan Writers' Union; Imdat Avshar, the Turkish representative of AYB; Professor Asif Rustamli, the director of the department of the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature of ANAS; Parvin, the chief editor of "Gobustan" magazine; and others.

It should be noted that the III Turkish World Literature and Book Festival (III LitBookFest) is organized by the International Union of Turkish Authors, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Writers' Union of Azerbaijan, the Culture Committee of the Milli Majlis, TURKSOY, the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation, ANAS, Baku City Executive It is organized with the support of the authority, International Turkish Academy, TIKA and other institutions.

This year, the eight-day celebration is devoted to one of the following countries: Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The Third Turkish World Literature and Book Festival is scheduled to run until May 31st.
