Mirza Sharif Mirzayev. Materials on the history of the Turkish press in the Caucasus

Mirza Sharif Mirzayev's book "Materials on the history of the Turkish press in the Caucasus" was translated by Orkhan Isayev, dissertation of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS, junior researcher of the department of Azerbaijan oral folk literature and literary monuments. The translated book was published by the decision of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Literature No. 4 dated June 17, 2021.

The author and scientific editor of the foreword to the book is head of the Department of Press History and Journalism, Doctor of Philology, Professor Vugar Ahmad. Book's reviewers are PhD in Philology Elmira Gasimova and Gulbaniz Babayeva. The book published by "AFPoligRAF",are 200 pages.        

Mirza Sharif Mirzayev's book "Materials on the history of the Turkish press in the Caucasus" completely exposes the policy of aggression pursued by tsarist officials in the Caucasus against the Azerbaijani Turks, using official and archival documents. Mirza Sharif Mirzayev, the first and last Azerbaijani to work as a censor of local and oriental languages in the Caucasus Censorship Committee, shows the artificial obstacles created for the Azerbaijani press on the basis of historical facts.

"Materials on the history of the Turkish press in the Caucasus" was written in Russian on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Azerbaijani press, and for the first time in this book is presented to readers in Azerbaijani.

  The work, written in Russian, was first published in book form by Elmira Gasimova and Rena Mayilova in 2009, and was translated by Orkhan Isayev on the basis of that publication.
