Main activity: The department manages the website www.literature.az of the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature, produces traditional and digital informative and bibliographic resources on Azerbaijani literary studies. Leads the scientific research processes of popularization processes within the framework of global trends in the digital society and scientific environment. In authoritative scientific databases - “Scopus”, “Web of Science”, “Google Scholar”, etc. - implements the processes of placing the scientific creative products of the Institute's employees, introducing them to the world scientific environment, and presents and promotes the achievements, history and personalities of Azerbaijani literary studies to the public through informative resources and projects on various topics on social media accounts - Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube ("Our Literary Memory Treasury", "Researcher's Word"), etc.
The department also provides electronic services such as authoritative scientometric databases, databases on dissertation topics, searches and information on bibliographic databases, creation and management of profiles in academic social networks, etc. to the employees of the Institute and the humanitarian scientific community in general.
Date of establishment: 2000 - by the decision of the Presidium of ANAS, the theoretical and experimental laboratory "Internet-Intellect" was organized under the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi;
2001 - by the decision of the Presidium of ANAS, the Laboratory was organized as the "Scientific Information and Bibliography" department with more innovative directions of activity and structure. From 2001, the updated structural unit was headed by Amin Tahir oglu Efendiyev (1933-2014), a member of the AYB, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, Associate Professor, until March 2013.
2013 - By the order of Academician Isa Habibbeyli, Director of the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature, the department was renamed "Scientific Information and Translation" and new directions of activity were determined.
