The last work of the great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi in the series "Khamsa" is the poem "Iskendername". This work, which is the result of the great artist's multifaceted work, has an exceptional place in the history of world literature. Although the theme and plot of the poem are taken from existing historical chronicles, legends and myths about the life and marches of Alexander the Great, Nizami Ganjavi created a new work in terms of content and ideas, creating a perfect example of the epic genre in Eastern literature.
