On October 8, 2025, a literary meeting between well-known figures of modern children's literature and young people was organized at the F. Kocharli Republican Children's Library. The event was attended by scientists, writers and poets, and students of Baku State University.
The event began with a speech by the Director of the library, Shahla Gambarova. She introduced the prominent representatives of modern children's literature to young readers and gave the floor to Aygun Bagirli. A. Bagirli emphasized the importance of authors in the promotion of children's literature and also included ideas and suggestions from young people. Within the framework of the discussion, questions such as Literature and its role in human life?, What would life be like without literature? were addressed to the audience.
In his speech, one of the great figures of Azerbaijani children's literature, Zahid Khalil, emphasized the important role of literature in the development of human thinking. According to him, "intuition gives rise to discoveries, and literature shapes intuition." Young students joined the discussion and noted that literature enriches a person's spiritual world, develops language and empathy skills, and at the same time expands the world of imagination.
The well-known teacher-poet Ibrahim Yusifoglu, recalling the important role of the periodical press in the promotion of children's literature, mentioned the names of "Azerbaijani Pioneri", "Savalan", "Göyärçin" and other newspapers and magazines. Writers Mehriban Naghiyeva, Gulzar Ibrahimova and Nurlana Isıq touched upon the current problems related to the publication of children's literary works and the activities of publishing houses in this direction. Gulzar Ibrahimova emphasized in her speech that the first promoters of children's literature are parents.
As part of the discussion, information was provided about the work done by the Republican Children's Library in this area and video reviews of books based on artificial intelligence technologies.
At the end of the event, the writers presented selected copies of their works to young readers.
