"Today is a heroic page in the national history of Azerbaijan, the establishment of justice, the manifestation of unity to the world."
These words were said by Academician Isa Habibbayli, President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, in a statement to journalists.
He said that today is also a day of pride for the Azerbaijani people:
"It is a holiday of national pride for our state, our independence, our people. Today, Azerbaijan has shown the whole world an example of fighting for justice and fairness. September 27 is the starting point of our 44-day heroic war. Today is the starting point of liberating the lands of Azerbaijan from occupation.
The statement made by AR President in 2020 became the watchword of our people's unity, solidarity, heroic spirit, and determination to fight. Today, it raised us to the peak of Shusha, to the peak of victory. Our people won the greatest victory in their national history. The 44-day war was a just war that ended in victory in the shortest time in world history. This war was the embodiment of the unity of the people around the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, around the iron fist, to the whole world".
