A meeting dedicated to the issues of preparation for the 80th anniversary of the Academy was held in the Meridian-Meeting Hall of the Presidium building under the leadership of the President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbayli.
Academician Isa Habibbayli, who provided detailed information on the implementation of the Order of President Ilham Aliyev "On the Celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences" dated March 18, 2025, spoke about other upcoming issues.
Academician Isa Habibbayli, who noted that events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Academy have been held for the first time in the country at Karabakh University and the Nakhchivan Branch of the Academy, as well as abroad in the cities of Ankara and Istanbul, Turkey, and the historical significance of these meetings, drew attention to important issues regarding the organization of preparations for the final event. Stating that it is planned to publish 52 monographs, bibliographies and promotional books in connection with the 80th anniversary of ANAS, 11 of which have already been published, and several are on the verge of final editing, the head of ANAS gave relevant recommendations and instructions to the relevant colleagues to complete the publication work at a high level.
Academician Isa Habibbayli informed that for the first time, invitation letters were sent to the heads of international scientific organizations, partner Academies from different continents of the world, including the presidents of academies of the Turkic world, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of ANAS, noting that most of them have already accepted the invitation.
He also announced that an 80th Anniversary badge of ANAS has been prepared on the occasion of the anniversary, and that for the first time, badges of Aziz Sanjar, Yusif Mammadaliyev, Uzeyir Hajibayli, and Lev Landau will be established.
As part of the Academy's 80th anniversary, a separate meeting is planned to be held on the development of cooperation with Academies of the Turkic world.
In the meeting instructions on establishing a Youth Academy within the Academy on the basis of the ANAS Council of Young Scientists and Specialists and announcing it at the anniversary event were also given.
Furthermore, it is planned to prepare a presentation with the participation of robots dedicated to the 80-year development of the Academy using artificial intelligence.
Academician-Secretary of ANAS, Academician Arif Hashimov, Head of the Science and Education Department of the Presidium Office, Doctor of Philology Sarkhan Khavari, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations and Work with International Scientific Organizations, Associate Professor Esmira Alirzayeva, Chairman of the Free Trade Union of ANAS, Associate Professor Sanan Hasanov and others made speeches and provided detailed information on the work done so far in implementing relevant tasks in different areas.
President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbayli, brought to attention his instructions on organizational work, holding plenary and departmental meetings, organizing scientific achievements and book exhibitions, and organizing certain design work in the structures of the Academy in order to ensure the high level of events.
