President of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbeyli, met with Vietnamese literary scholars visiting Azerbaijan.
At the meeting held at the Presidium of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbeyli drew attention to the expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Vietnam in all areas, and touched upon the importance of establishing ties in the field of science. Providing information about the history and directions of the academy, the head of ANAS said that during the former Soviet period, as in other republics, only European and American literature was studied in Azerbaijan, and research on Asian countries was not given importance. During the period of independence, he brought to attention that for the first time in 2016, the “Literature of Asian Peoples” department was established at the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature of ANAS, and research on Vietnamese literature, along with other Asian nations, was started in the department. He noted that the department’s employee Sevda Mammadova defended her doctoral dissertation on Vietnamese literature, which is the first research work written on this topic during the period of independence.
Professor Nguyen Van Chien of Hanoi University of Vietnam, speaking, drew attention to the importance of the results of the international scientific conference on "Literature of Asian Peoples: Traditions and Modern Trends" held at ANAS in December last year, and stated that he had published an extensive article about the event in the official newspaper of Vietnam. Speaking about the importance of establishing relations between our countries in the field of science, the Vietnamese professor said that the upcoming joint scientific projects are a successful start. Emphasizing that a project is being developed to establish a scientific center for Turkology at Hanoi University of Vietnam, the guest expressed confidence that the institution will make a great contribution to scientific and literary cooperation.
Vyetnamlı araşdırmaçı, yazıçı, jurnalist və tərcüməçi Di Li isə çıxışında elmi-ədəbi əlaqələrin inkişaf etdirilməsində AMEA ilə əməkdaşlığın perspektivlərindən danışıb. Görüşün birgə elmi layihələrin meydana çıxmasına şərait yaradacağaını vurğulayıb.
Görüşdə Hanoy Universitetində Azərbaycanşünaslıq və Türkologiya Mərkəzinin yaradılması, AMEA ilə Hanoy Universiteti arasında əməkdaşlıq memorandumunun imzalanması, qarşılıqlı kitab tərcüməsi və nəşri, digər elmi layihələrə dair fikir mübadiləsi aparılıb, müvafiq razılıq əldə olunub.
