Muhammad Fuzuli: His Life and Works

The book “Muhammad Fuzuli: His Life and Works”, prepared by the Fuzuli Studies Sector of the Nizami Ganjavi Literary Institute, studies the creative work of the great poet in a comprehensive manner, and examines and analyzes in detail the ideological and artistic features, form and content characteristics of his rich literary heritage. This book, which is the result of the long-term hard work, great effort and searches of the collective of the Fuzuli Studies Sector, is of great scientific importance.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli also provided information about the book “Muhammad Fuzuli: His Life and Creativity” prepared by the Fuzuli Studies Sector of the Literary Institute, and said that this book is the first scientifically generalized and large-scale work written about the great poet. He noted that the monograph, consisting of eleven chapters, extensively, systematically and comprehensively researches the period, environment and life of Fuzuli. The book includes Fuzuli's divans written in Azerbaijani and Persian, his divan of odes written in three languages, his poems that constitute a special stage in the history of Azerbaijani epic poetry, his literary prose works, his translation work, his letters to famous people of his time, and the prefaces to his divans, as well as his philosophical views, revealing the perfection of the poet's literary personality in all its aspects.

The head of ANAS noted that the publication comprehensively studied the issues related to the linguistic and stylistic features of Fuzuli's art, poetics, folklore sources, predecessors, contemporaries and successors. A separate chapter of the monograph is devoted to the study of Fuzuli's heritage in world literary criticism and its translation into other languages.

The head of the project “Muhammad Fuzuli: His Life and Creativity” and the author of the book’s “Foreword” are Academician Isa Habibbeyli, President of ANAS, Director of the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature, and its scientific editor is Doctor of Philology Ataemi Mirzayev.
