A scientific and creative conference was held on the topic "Literary Process - 2024"

On July 9, a scientific-creative conference on the topic "Literary Process - 2024" was held at the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature of ANAS.

The event was attended by the President of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Literature, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Press Council, Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union (AYB), Editor-in-Chief of "525-ci Qazet" Rashad Majid, Secretary of the AYB Salim Babullaoglu, Editor-in-Chief of "Adebiyyat Qazeti" Azer Turan, scientists of the Institute of Literature, well-known writers, literary critics, media representatives and other guests.

First, an exhibition consisting of publications reflecting the "Literary Process" scientific-creative conferences was viewed in the lobby.

Opening the event with an introductory speech, the President of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Literature, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, highly appreciated the “Literary Process” scientific and creative conferences as a scientific event that has become a great tradition. Academician Isa Habibbeyli noted that the scientific and creative conferences, founded in 1976-1984, have been held continuously at the Institute of Literature since 2013, their materials have been published in the form of books, and since 2018 they have been published annually in the “Literature” newspaper.

The head of ANAS noted the importance of the event in terms of understanding and interpreting the literary process, and ultimately the development of science and literature, and emphasized that 10 volumes of the “Literary Process” scientific and creative conferences have already been published.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli, who conducted the classification of the Literary Process movement, said that the years 1976-1984 were the foundation and initial period of the Literary Process movement. He remembered the prominent literary critics who created this movement during that period and stated that the “Literary Process” scientific and creative conferences continued in a row during the initial period. He noted that in the following years, until the late 1990s, the “Literary Process” scientific and creative conferences were not held, but were restored in 1994 and continued until 2011.

Calling the second stage, covering 1994-2010, "the period of restoration of literary process consultations," the head of ANAS said that, unlike the consultations held during the Soviet era, the unique developments created by the period of independence in the fields of scientific, cultural, and public opinion created opportunities for the literary process to be held in a solemn manner and for the literary environment to be more widely involved in the process.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli noted that in 2013, lectures on the literary process were restored at the Nizami Ganjavi Literary Institute based on the broad search and creative opportunities created by the period of independence, Azerbaijaniism and nationalism factors, and that in February 2014, the "Literary Process" scientific and creative conference was held, which discussed the literature of 2013. He called the third stage, covering 2013-2017, the period of reforming the "Literary Process" scientific and creative conferences.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli said that since 2013, the scope of the aforementioned consultations has been expanded, while maintaining the classical form, literary journalism and literary translation have been added, in 2014 there was a transition from literary types to genres, and in 2015, prose was represented by stories, narratives, and novels. He noted that over the years, the number of speakers has increased, well-known literary critics and writers have participated in the aforementioned consultations, and the reports have been published in reputable newspapers and journals.

At the end of his speech, academician Isa Habibbeyli wished success to the work of this year's "Literary Process" and expressed his belief that the meetings would produce new works that would become a literary event.

Then, Rashad Majid, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Press Council, Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan Press Council, and Editor-in-Chief of "525-ci Gazet", spoke and stated that the "Literary Process" scientific and creative meetings had become a literary movement.

At the event, Member of Parliament, Doctor of Philology Elnara Akimova delivered an extensive report on the "Literary Landscape of 2024."

The speaker, looking at the literary landscape of the past year, stated that our country's hosting of such a prestigious event as COP29 in 2024 is an indicator of Azerbaijan's growing influence in the world, its strengthening position and its participation in world politics. He recalled the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On measures to declare the city of Shusha the "Cultural Capital of the Islamic World" for 2024", and also drew attention to the fact that last year was declared the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World" in our country.

It should be noted that the reports presented at the event will be published in a collection.
