The book “Magsud Sheikhzadeh. Sultan of the Gazel Realm” has been published

The bright son of the Azerbaijani land, Magsud Sheikhzadeh, is a famous representative of the 20th century Uzbek scientific community, a philosopher-poet, playwright, master translator, outstanding educator, linguist, critic, folklorist, literary critic and, first of all, a Navai scholar. The Uzbek people embraced the 20-year-old young man who was exiled from Azerbaijan by imperial evil and took refuge in them as their own child. Magsud Sheikhzadeh lived such a life that this fate became a living heir and a spiritual bridge to the centuries-old history of literary relations between the two brotherly peoples.

AZERTAC reports that these thoughts are included in the book “Magsud Sheikhzadeh. Sultan of the Gazel Realm”, published by the decision of the Scientific Council of the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. The scientific editor of the book is academician Isa Habibbeyli, the editor is associate professor Sirajeddin Hajili, and the translator from Uzbek and author of the “Foreword” is scholar Almaz Ulvi Binnetova, a Navai scholar.

“Maqsud Sheikhzadeh’s book “The Sultan of the Ghazal Mulk” was collected 53 years ago by the famous Uzbek scholar, classical heritage researcher, and Nizami scholar Natan Mallayev from various press outlets and the scholar’s creative archive and published in 1972. The fourth volume of the six-volume collection of Maqsud Sheikhzadeh’s works (378 pages) is a series of studies written as a result of serious research on Alisher Navoi.

The book “The Sultan of the Ghazal Mulk” was written in Uzbek. First, we planned to translate the book. Then, the parts related to the ideology of socialist realism had to be edited, and finally, these works had to be done in such a way that the scientific style of Maqsud Sheikhzadeh was not touched, and his ideas and thoughts were not distorted. We were facing a serious and responsible test.

But our admiration for the magical creativity and life of the genius Alisher Navoi in our hearts, the upbringing we received from his wise school, and the lessons that enlightened our souls did not allow censorship in our pen "First of all, I would like to say that the translation work was not difficult. Because the research on Alisher Navoi was the product of the pen of a young man who had just left Azerbaijan. At that time, the topic of Alisher Navoi, which was very popular in Azerbaijan and was constantly being studied and written about, was accompanied by love for Azerbaijan, and the thoughts of Magsud Sheikhzadeh, who had just learned the Uzbek language, had many Azerbaijani shades, and finally, since Navai's language was very close to the Fuzuli language, I often thought that I was simply transcribing a text from Cyrillic to Latin, that is, it was such a close, comfortable and clear written language. We also feel a great responsibility when we bring to your attention the book "Sultan of the Ghazal Realm" by Magsud Sheikhzadeh - his research on Alisher Navoi written in Uzbek - in Azerbaijani," noted Almaz Ulvi, who prepared the book for publication.
