On June 18, the President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli met with Professor Osman Mert, Head of the Turkish Language Association, which operates under the Atatürk High Institution of Culture, Language and History of Türkiye.
During the meeting held at the Presidium of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli underlined that the friendly and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, as always, continue today at a high level. He emphasized that at the foundation of these relations stand the words of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, which have become a slogan: “One nation, two states.”
Academician Isa Habibbeyli said that the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences maintains close relations with the academic institutions of brotherly Türkiye. He mentioned that, in the coming days, an international scientific conference on the topic “Azerbaijan and Türkiye in World Politics” will be held, jointly organized by ANAS and the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA).
The planned works about the preparation for the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress, to be held in Baku in 2026 were discussed during the meeting. The importance of organizing joint conferences and seminars between ANAS and the Turkish Language Association, as well as the publication of works was also highlighted.
In his speech, Professor Osman Mert, Head of the Turkish Language Association, expressed his satisfaction with being at ANAS and said that the institution he leads maintains close relations with the National Academy of Sciences. Professor Osman Mert also shared several proposals related to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress.
Further, gifts were presented to the guest, and a commemorative photo was taken.
Professor Osman Mert also met with the staff of the “Electronic Academy” Department of the Presidium administration of ANAS and was introduced to the ongoing research.
