The IV Turkic World Literature and Book Festival, which started on May 24, will end today. In recent days, a number of interesting meetings, panels, autograph sessions, and entertaining events have been organized at the festival.
“Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh - 100 panel” was held within the framework of the festival, organized by the Institute of Literature of ANAS. Opening the event, the ANAS President, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, said that the decree of the head of the country “On the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh” dated February 21, 2025, created broad opportunities for our scientists in terms of conducting research. He emphasized that in order to celebrate the anniversary of the outstanding poet at a high level, an extensive plan of events is being implemented in the scientific institutions and organizations of the academy.
At the "Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh - 100 Panel", employees of the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature of ANAS - Associate Professor Aygun Bagirli, Doctors of Philology Vagif Yusifli, Esmira Fuad and Alizadeh Askerli also spoke and analyzed the work of Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh.
Representatives of the Sumgayit and Beylagan branches of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union Gulnara Jamaleddin, Mammadyar Ziyadoglu, Agha Savalan Rovshan Garabudag and others also made a memorable appearance at the Festival during the Literature and Book Festival. One of the most notable literary events of the festival, "Ghazal Hour", was also met with great interest. Female poets Lilpar Jamshidgizi, Khatira Khatun and Gulara Munis sang classical and contemporary ghazals with their unique poetic breath and artistic mastery.
It should be noted that each day of the festival was dedicated to the history and literature of a Turkic state. Among them, talks were held about the poetry and prose of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, artistic examples were performed, and books were presented.
Numerous artistic examples published by local publishing houses were also put up for sale at discounted prices in the pavilions. Valuable poetry and prose examples were offered to readers at 15–30 percent lower than the selling prices, which was a great opportunity for readers. Children's books, newly published works, and even classical literature were available.
Finally, let us note that this year, for the first time, the 1st Turkic World Children's Festival is planned to be held on June 1, on the occasion of International Children's Day.
