A ceremony dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Academician Bekir Nabiyev, one of the leading literary scholars of the modern era, was held at the "Heydar Aliyev School of Culture and Art" of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (ASUCA), with the participation of the institution's leadership, faculty, and students.
Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of ASUCA, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Nigar Rustamova spoke on the scholar's life path, his contributions to national literary studies, and his scientific work. Fatimat Mammadova, Associate Professor of the Department of Literature and Languages of the university, PhD in Culturology, highlighted the importance of the academician's research in this field in her speech on the topic "Bekir Nabiyev's services in the study of independence poetry and emigration literature".
In her speech, the senior research of the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature of ANAS, Doctor of Philology, Professor Salida Sharifova spoke on the academician's contributions to literary historiography, the head of the department of that institute, Doctor of Philology, Professor Asif Rustamli Bekir Nabiyev's research covering various periods of Azerbaijani literature, and shared her memories of the scientist. The leading research fellow of the Institute of Literature, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology Asmar Huseynova analyzed the activities of academician Bekir Nabiyev in the field of literary criticism and emphasized his important position in the history of our literary thought. Professor of the ASUCA, Honored Worker of Arts Ali Amirli spoke about the importance of the scholar's scientific heritage for modern literary studies.
As part of the event held on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, a presentation of more than a hundred books on culture and art donated to the ANMSU from the personal library of academician Bekir Nabiyev also took place. The scientist's family members expressed their hope that the books donated to the institute's library would be useful for students, and expressed their gratitude to the ADMİU administration for organizing the event at a high level.
