4th Turkic World Literature and Book Festival organized a panel discussion - "Yusif Samadoglu - 90"

A panel discussion titled “The Deep Philosophy of Yusif Samadoglu’s Creativity (Yusif Samadoglu – 90)” was organized within the framework of the IV Turkic World Literature and Book Festival on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the prominent writer, publicist and screenwriter Yusif Samadoglu.

Bizim.Media reports that the panel featured speeches by Elnara Garagozova, a leading researcher at the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, and Lutviyya Askerzade, a Doctor of Philosophy in Philology. The panel featured extensive discussions on the writer’s creativity, especially the novel “The Day of the Execution,” which is considered one of the masterpieces of 20th-century Azerbaijani literature, as well as the scripts written by the author.

The speakers emphasized that Yusif Samadoglu's literary heritage remains relevant in the modern era, and that his works have deep philosophical and spiritual layers. Doctor of Philosophy in Philology Elnara Garagozova evaluated the novel "The Day of the Massacre" as an important manifestation of postmodernist thinking in Azerbaijani literature, and spoke in the context of the work's ideological and aesthetic attitude, the concept of time and memory.
Doctor of Philology Lutviyya Askerzadeh drew attention to Yusif Samadoglu's screenwriting activities and spoke about the role of the literary texts he brought to cinema in the formation of public and historical memory.
Within the framework of the panel, the participants presented information about the writer's life and work, and discussions were held. It was noted that the discussion was of great importance in terms of promoting Yusif Samadoglu's rich literary heritage and introducing it to a new generation of readers.
