On March 11, a scientific session entitled “The Bakhtiyar of Our Literature” was held at the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature of ANAS, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding representative of Azerbaijani poetry, People's Poet, educator and public figure, literary critic, academician Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh.

The event was attended by deputies, scientists and cultural figures, employees of the Institute of Literature, representatives of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, university students, family members of the poet and members of the media.

First, there was a viewing of the exhibition reflecting the poet's life and activities.

Opening the scientific session with an introductory speech, the President of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Literature, Academician Isa Habibbeyli noted that Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh, one of the brightest figures of modern Azerbaijani literature, played an important role in enriching our artistic thought with his fighting personality and multifaceted creativity. He emphasized that today's scientific session is of great importance as the first event dedicated to the poet's anniversary in the country in the light of the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev "On the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh" dated February 21, 2025.

At the event, organized within the framework of the implementation of the tasks arising from the relevant Decree of the head of state, the head of ANAS emphasized the importance of studying Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh's work in more depth from the point of view of independence, the ideology of Azerbaijaniism and the idea of ​​independence: "Today we celebrate the legacy of our great poet in the context of modern realities, the victory we have won and the political and ideological thought of our independent state."
