A seminar on “Ecological Novel: At the Crossroads of Genres and Epochs” was held at the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences by Associate Professor of the Center for Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences Inessa Kryshtop.
Opening the seminar, Deputy Director of the Institute, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, Associate Professor Mehman Hasanli welcomed the guest and spoke about the work done at the Institute of Literature towards the development of Azerbaijani-Belarusian literary relations. Mehman Hasanli also recalled that a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Institute of Literature and the Center for Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences in 2016. Associate Professor Inessa Kryshtop stated that the visit was the first joint event with the Center after the signing of the Memorandum.
In his speech, Mehman Hasanli provided information about the scientific research activities of the Institute of Literature and noted that research on Belarusian literature is being conducted in the Department of World Literature and Comparative Studies. He added that Associate Professor Malahat Gadirova, an employee of the department, is working on her doctoral dissertation on Belarusian literature and that three anthologies on Belarusian literature have been published.
It should be noted that one of the anthologies prepared for publication by Malahat Gadirova is in Russian and two are in Azerbaijani (prose and poetry).
Associate Professor Inessa Krishtop, an employee of the Center for Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature, gave a comprehensive report on the topic “Ecological novel: at the intersection of genres and epochs”. She answered questions from the Institute employees on the topic.
The head of the Department of World Literature and Comparative Studies, Doctor of Philology, Professor Guler Abdullabeyli, Doctor of Philology Khuraman Humbatova, Doctors of Philosophy in Philology Malahat Gadirova and Ayten Rustamzade also expressed their views on the topic at the seminar.
The event was attended by the scientific secretary of the Institute, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology Aygun Bagirli, the head of the Education Department, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology Gunay Garayeva, the head of the International Relations Department Nigar Isayeva and other employees.
