"Azaflı" Azerbaijani Social Support and Culture Association and the Turkic World Cultural Centern held the event dedicated to the legacy of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi in Ankara.
The event, Tahmina Badalova, associate professor of the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), delivered a report on the work of the outstanding representative of world literature.
According to her, the works of Nizami Ganjavi gave a strong impetus to the development of literary thought in the East and world culture in general. "Nizami Ganjavi is a treasure of wisdom deeply rooted in the minds of many generations. The legacy of the great Azerbaijani son belongs to all humanity," said the associate professor of ANAS.
She noted that the word "Turkish" in Nizami's work symbolized not only national identity, but also purity and beauty.
The scholar emphasized that the Azerbaijani people and state have always attached special importance to the heritage of Nizami Ganjavi. She noted that, by the instructions of the President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev, restoration work is being carried out at the mausoleum of the great poet in Ganja.
The scholar noted the importance of active promotion of the heritage of Nizami Ganjavi, and said that Nizami scholars also have a special role in this work.
The event was attended by literary scholars, admirers of the great Nizami’s creativity, and representatives of the public of the fraternal country.
