Today is the birthday of People's poet Mammad Araz
The work of the folk poet Mammad Araz is considered one of the unique events of 20th century Azerbaijani poetry. We must separately mention two important features that determine the essence and importance of the literary heritage of an outstanding artist. First, the poetry of Mammad Araz is one of the main national literary sources that revive and shape the national independence thinking of the Azerbaijani people. The second is the People's poet Mammad Araz Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh, Khalil Reza Ulutürk, Nariman Hasanzadeh, Huseyn Kurdoglu, Fikret Goca, Fikret Sadiq, Musa Yagub, Mammad Ismayil, Shahmar Akbarzadeh, Vagif Samadoglu, Sabir Rustamkhanli, Zalimkhan Yagub, Ramiz Rovshan, Vahid Aziz and others. He is one of our irreplaceable artists who laid the first cornerstones of Azerbaijani poetry during the period of independence. Academician Isa Habibbayli rightly wrote about the creative path of the great poet in the 90s in his monograph "People's Poet Mammad Araz": "Mammad Araz has always been on guard in the trenches of the Fatherland with his great art, which lasted for more than forty years. People's poet Mammad Araz At the current stage of independence, he is a fighter on the way to the nation and national state. And this is very meaningful, valuable and instructive that the words of Mammad Araz are valid for the whole nation. He is a worthy elder not only of our poetry, but also of our culture in the broad sense of the word. Today, the poet Mammad Araz has the moral right to say "Stand up, Azerbaijan!" Indeed, the poems written by the great artist during the First Karabakh War - in the early 90s confirm the views of the prominent literary critic.
