Academician Isa Habibbayli, ANAS President delivered a speech on "Karabakh Letter of the National Academy of Sciences: successes and future tasks". It was noted that more than 30 monographs, compilation books, and collections of articles were published in scientific research institutes covered by the Humanities and Social Sciences departments of ANAS after the historical Victory won in the Second Karabakh War with the Iron Fist of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Muzaffar, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. and conference materials were published. Books and articles of Academy scholars have been published in Azerbaijani, Turkish, English, Russian, Arabic, German and Spanish languages. For the third year now, archeological excavations have been conducted in the liberated territories of Karabakh by the employees of the Institute of Archeology and Anthropology. Works were also carried out in the direction of restoration of seismological stations in Karabakh. Currently, the Republican Seismological Service Center under ANAS is about to complete the first stage of works at the Shusha-Dasalti Seismological Station.
The head of ANAS assessed the creation of a perfect chronicle of the Karabakh war, ethnography, folklore and toponymy of the liberated settlements on a larger scale as scientifically necessary issues. In the near future, the creation of a Department of the Academy or a Scientific Center in Karabakh to conduct systematic and complex scientific research work was considered one of the main tasks ahead.
