On March 4, an anniversary event dedicated to the 90th anniversary of ANAS Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature was held in the Great Assembly Hall of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences on the theme "Headquarters of Literary Studies: traditions, stages and challenges".
The event was attended by Sultan Rayev, Secretary General of TURKSOY International Organization of Turkish Culture, Academician Shukhrat Siraceddinov, Rector of Uzbek Language and Literature University, Yagub Omaroglu, Chairman of the Eurasian Writers' Union from Turkey, People's Writer Anar, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, Eldar Guliyev, Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan Press attended the event. Chairman of the Council Rashad Majid, MPs of the Milli Majlis, officials of higher education institutions, representatives of various institutions, ANAS employees and mass media.
The anniversary event was opened by ANAS President, Director of the Institute of Literature, Academician Isa Habibbayli. Academician Isa Habibbeyli noted that there is an ancient history and great traditions of literary studies in Azerbaijan, and a solid foundation of literary studies was created with the systematic scientific research conducted by Khatib Tabrizi, one of the well-known figures of his time. He also said that the literary tazkiras of the Middle Ages played the role of literary anthologies and literary historical materials of the time due to their form and content.
Academician Isa Habibbeyli noted that in the 1950s and 1980s of the 20th century, prominent scientists at the Institute of Literature, academicians Mammad Arif Dadashzade, Mammad Jafar Jafarov, Hamid Arasli, Kamal Talibzade, corresponding members Aziz Mirahmedov, Yashar Garayev, Professor Mammadhuseyn Tahmasib, distinguished the science of literary studies and scientific schools were established in separate fields.
The head of ANAS said that after 2013 necessary structural reforms were carried out in the Institute of Literature in order to ensure that the literature of Azerbaijan is studied in a wider and systematic way, based on the ideals of Azerbaijanism and national-spiritual values. and said that other departments, the Fuzuli science sector, have been created.
At the end, in connection with the jubilee, the employees of the Institute of Literature were awarded on various nominations.
Academician Isa Habibbeyli received Honorary Decrees of ANAS, Sultan Raev, Secretary General of TURKSOY International Organization of Turkish Culture, TURKSOY, People's Writer Anar awarded the Azerbaijan Writers Union, Eldar Guliyev, Chairman of the Council of Elders, "Honorary Elder" badge, and Honorary Decrees, Rashad Majid, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Press Council, presented the Press Council's "Diploma," Agil Dadashov, Deputy Chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, the Trade Union's 30-year badge and Honorary Decrees, and Yagub Omaroglu, Chairman of the Eurasian Writers' Union, the "Medal of Honour" to the Institute of Literature's employees. The institute also rewarded the personnel with a variety of prizes.
