Academician Isa Habibbayli was elected as "Honorary Professor" of Kokand State Pedagogical Institute of Uzbekistan

On June 16, ANAS Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature held a meeting  with the delegation of Kokand State Pedagogical Institute after Migumi of Uzbekistan.

 President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli spoke at the event and said that friendship and fraternal relations between our countries, which have been standing for thousands of years, have reached their highest stage in recent years thanks to the close relations of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyayev. Academician Isa Habibbeyli noted that today Uzbekistan has also taken great steps in the direction of integration into the Turkic world, and close cooperation in all fields is clearly observed in relations with Turkic-speaking countries.

Recalling the signing of the memorandum of understanding on scientific cooperation between the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, Academician Isa Habibbeyli said today that the scientific institutions of ANAS cooperate with many relevant institutions of Uzbekistan.

Stating that there are extensive relations between the Institute of Literature and the scientific and educational institutions of Uzbekistan, the head of ANAS pointed out that since 2014, conferences dedicated to the great Uzbek poet Alishir Navai have been held at the Institute of Literature every year, and employees of the institution regularly participate in Navai conferences in Uzbekistan. He emphasized that, at the suggestion of Alishir Navai Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature, Professor Shukhrat Sirojiddinov, the "Navai Days" conference has started in Baku for the first time this year, continued at the Presidium of ANAS, and concluded in Uzbekistan.

"During the past years, studies dedicated to Muhammad Babur, Maqsud Sheikhzadeh and Gafur Ghulam were conducted and conferences were held at the Institute of Literature. One issue of the Institute's "Comparative Literature" magazine is entirely devoted to Uzbekistan. The Alishir Navai Center operates at the Institute of Literature, as well as the Center named after Muhammad Fuzuli at the Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature," said academician Isa Habibbayli.

Academician Isa Habibbayli said that researches on Uzbek literature are being continued at the Literary Institute, dissertations are being written, and he expressed his satisfaction to see the guests at ANAS.

The rector of Kokand State Pedagogical Institute named after Migumi, professor Dilnoza Khojayeva expressed her gratitude for the hospitality. He spoke about the historically existing friendship and fraternal relations between our countries and pointed out that they are interested in organizing joint projects and conducting research.

At the meeting, head of Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan literary relations department of the Institute of Literature, Almaz Ulvi Binnetova, Doctor of Philology, Yashar Gasymbeyli, Doctor of Philology, Nigora Kadyrova, Vice-Rector for international relation of Kokand State Pedagogical Institute, Professors Nigora Erkaboyeva and Dilnoza Jamoliddinova spoke and touched on the importance of the meeting. 

Then, Academician Isa Habibbayli and Doctor of Philologiy Almaz Ulvi Binnetova were awarded the diplomas "Honorary Professor" of the Kokand State Pedagogical Institute. The diplomas were presented by the Rector of Kokand State Pedagogical Institute, Professor Dilnoza Khojayeva.

Nargiza Babayeva, Vice-Rector for educational affairs of Kokand State Pedagogical Institute after Migumi, Aybek Bozorov, head of the Education Quality Control Department, Shahnoza Garshiyeva, head of the Coordination Department of joint educational programs and Nadir Khalikov, head of the Planning and Finance Department also attended the meeting.
