The meeting was opened by Academician Isa Habibbeyli, Vice-President of ANAS, Chairman of the Statutory Commission, Academician Isa Habibbayli, who informed about the draft of the new Charter. It was noted that the new draft of the Charter reflects the issues related to the reorganization of the work and scientific activity of the Academy based on the Presidential Decree, and the mechanisms of regulation of scientific-organizational processes.While preparing the draft of the new Charter, the provisions related to the organization and implementation of scientific research in accordance with the national priorities and development strategy of our country determined by the state, in the context of integration into world science, as well as the issues related to the interaction of science and education were accepted as the main principles. In the draft of the new Charter, which consists of 14 articles and 228 points, the structure, duties and rights of the Academy, the activities of the General Assembly of the Academy, the Presidium, scientific units, regional scientific centers, scientific institutions, scientific-service institutions, procedures for issues related to elections to the Academy are defined. covered. Provisions related to the organization and regulation of international cooperation of the Academy were also included in the project.

Taking into account the proposals mentioned in the meeting, the draft of the new Statute of ANAS was largely adopted and it was decided to submit the draft to the Presidium for further discussion.
The draft of ANAS Charter will be presented to the General meeting of the Academy after being discussed at the meeting of the Presidium.
According to the rules of the Charter, the Charter of ANAS enters into force after it is approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the request of the General Assembly.
