Leading researcher of the Department of Nizami Studies of ANAS Institute of Literature after Nizami Ganjavi, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Zahra Allahverdiyeva delivered a paper on "Nizami Ganjavi's genealogy and life" at the VII "Physics and Lyrics" conference on "Nizami Ganjavi's heritage and nature".

The rapporteur said that many orientalists have confirmed on the basis of sources that the population of Ganja, the capital of the Atabey state of Azerbaijan in the XI-XII centuries, consisted of Turks. Iranian scholar Barat Zanjani said that the language of the people of Ganja was Turkish, and Nizami wrote poems in Turkish.

She also spoke on the great poet's brother, saying that in the 1940s, a prominent orientalist, Yevgeny Bertels, who conducted a series of studies on the life and work of Nizami Ganjavi, wrote about the poet's family: "Nizami's brother was also a poet and was nicknamed Givami Mutarrizi. However, he masterfully mastered the complex poetic technique, went the other way and chose the glory of the palace poet.

At the end of the speech, she noted that, the above-mentioned facts prove that the great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi's nationality, both paternal and maternal is Turkish.
