The twentieth century has an exceptional place in the history of Azerbaijani criticism and literary criticism. In the last hundred years, critical thinking has played a great role in the development of our literature, in the study and promotion of literary works and the creativity of individual literary figures. Back in the 1940s, the great critic Mammad Arif Dadashzadeh wrote: "Criticism is also creativity ... As we demand from works of art, we must demand from it to be interesting and meaningful."
