Academic Isa Habibbayli gave an interview to Uzbek press

Vice-president of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences of ANAS, director of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi, academic Isa Habibbayli gave an interview to the newspaper “World of book” of Uzbekistan. Academic Isa Habibbayli who spoke about ancient and rich literature traditions of both nations based on common root, development history of Azerbaijan-Uzbek literary relations also noted: “Azerbaijan-Uzbek literary relations have ancient history and rich traditions. Azerbaijan and Uzbek relations are not only related with literature. Our nations are associated with common roots and important historical traditions. Literary relations are motive force of the relations among nations.  ”

It has been widely spoken about recent work done in the direction of development of mutual literary relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in the interview. Academic Isa Habibbayli, who highly appreciated activity of Azerbaijan Cultural Centre named after Heydar Aliyev in Uzbekistan also emphasized that publication by center Azerbaijani literature samples of prominent Azerbaijani intellectual, publicist Gulu Kangarli and preparing to the press of the works by prominent Azerbaijani writer Jalil Mammadguluzedeh in Uzbek language are important projects.  

The interview deals about works done by the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi in the direction of development Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan literary relations. It was noted that the department "Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan literary relations", established in 2016, was created to carry out necessary researches on mutual cooperation. It is also spoken about meeting with prominent representative of Uzbek “Sixties” , people’s poet Jamal Kamal, prospects of cooperation memorandum signed with Tashkent State Uzbek language and literature named after Alishir Navai.

Academic Isa Habibbayli said in the interview to the newspaper “World of book” of Uzbekistan that Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan literary-scientific and artistic relations are endless topic and it is important to investigate this problem systematically and profoundly  which is urgent for both countries.
