On December 8, the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi hosted the scientific conference of ANAS on the theme: " Eternal friendship realtions: Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Cultural and Literary Relations".
In the framework of the project of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev in Tashkent, the participants have recently been acquainted with the exhibition of books published in Uzbek language in Tashkent.
The vice president of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Literature, academician Isa Habibbayli spoke about the development of Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations, adding that cultural and literary relations have been expanded in recent years. The scientist emphasized that the basis of bilateral relations in the modern era was laid by national leader Heydar Aliyev and former President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov. These relations are successfully being continued by President Ilham Aliyev and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are confidently moving forward.
Speaking about cooperation of ANAS with the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Azerbaijan, I.Habibbeyli called today's stage of independence of Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations a significant event and wished success to the conference.
Speaking at the conference, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan Sherzod Fayziyev said cooperation between the two countries was developing in and stressed the importance of strengthening relations between the Muslim countries in the fields of science and culture.
Then a trilateral memorandum on cooperation was signed between Nizami Ganja Literature Institute, Tashkent State University of Uzbek language and Literature named after Alisher Navai and Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev.
The Memorandum envisages expansion of cooperation between scientific and cultural institutions of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, conducting joint research, implementation of projects, exchange of science, literature exchange, etc.
Samir Abbasov, Director of the Heydar Aliyev Center for Culture and Arts in Uzbekistan made a report on theme "Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan cultural and literary relations: projects, perspectives”.
Within the framework of the conference, the movie "Eternal Friendship Relations" has been demonstrated.
