ANAS scientists participated in an event dedicated to the 117th anniversary of the outstanding writer and great scientist Mir Jalal Pashayev in Goygol.
The event, organized by the Goygol District Executive Power, was attended by the head of the district Executive Power, Elvin Pashayev, a student of the prominent literary scholar Mir Jalal Pashayev, head of the Department of Common Beginnings and Renaissance Azerbaijani Literature of the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature of ANAS, Doctor of Philology, Professor Imamverdi Hamidov, Deputy Chairman for Scientific Affairs of the Ganja Department of ANAS, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology Alimukhtar Mukhtarov, writer-publicist Nushaba Asad Mammadli, poet-publicist Salman Balakishiyev, honored teacher Dilara Gaziyeva, cultural institutions of the Goygol district of the Ganja-Dashkan Regional Culture Department, teachers and intellectuals of the region.
The event was declared open with the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the dear memory of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and our heroic martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence. Then a video clip about the life and work of the outstanding writer was shown.
In his speech, the head of the Goygol District Executive Power, Elvin Pashayev, noted that Mir Jalal Pashayev occupies a unique place in the Azerbaijani literature of the 20th century with his original works distinguished by their diversity of themes and stylistic features. In his works, the great writer clearly reflected the socio-political situation of the time he lived in, the vital issues that made him think, and the real image of the people's life in prose. Today, the granddaughter of the valuable writer and educator Mir Jalal Pashayev, First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, who promotes humanity and kindness in her works, provides unparalleled services in the promotion and introduction of Azerbaijani literature and culture. Mir Jalal Pashayev's multifaceted work is an example not only for his contemporaries, but also for the generations that came after him. Therefore, it is the duty of each of us to preserve the literary heritage of Mir Jalal Pashayev and keep it alive forever.
Head of the Department of Common Beginnings and the Renaissance Period of Azerbaijani Literature of the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature of ANAS, Doctor of Philology, Professor Imamverdi Hamidov spoke extensively about his memories of the Honored Scientist, Professor, Outstanding Literary Scholar, Unforgettable, Kind Teacher Mir Jalal Pashayev, his material and moral support to students, his services in the history of Azerbaijani literature, and his great services in protecting the national and spiritual values of our people.
Deputy Chairman for Scientific Affairs of the Ganja Branch of ANAS, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology Alimukhtar Mukhtarov gave an extensive report on the topic of “Nizami Studies of Mir Jalal Pashayev”.
In his speech, the scientist emphasized the unparalleled services of Doctor of Philology, Professor Mir Jalal Pashayev in the study, research and revival of the plots and themes of classical Azerbaijani literature, including the works of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi, in the context of new thinking. The works of the outstanding writer such as “Nizami and Fuzuli”, “Positive Images of Nizami”, “About Stories in the Seven Beauties”, “Epic of Love”, “The Voice of Friendship from Ages” are valuable sources that never lose their relevance.
