On November 7, the next meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS was held.
Members of the council, head of the Electronic Academy department of ANAS Presidium, assistant professor Fariz Imranov, head of the document work and protocol department, doctor of philosophy Asmar Aliyeva, employees of the institution and relevant persons participated in the meeting.
Academician Isa Habibbeyli, the president of ANAS, director of the Institute of Literature, opened the scientific council and drew attention to the issues on the agenda. He congratulated the scientists on their jubilees and highly appreciated their activities. At the event, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, Associate Professor Leyli Aliyeva 75, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, Associate Professor Aslan Salmanov were awarded with an Honorary Decree on the occasion of their 70th anniversary.
Academician Isa Habibbeyli Muzaffar talked about the historic Victory won by the Azerbaijan Army in 44 days under the leadership of Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. He emphasized that the Victory achieved in the Patriotic War is a clear embodiment of the strength of our army and the unity and solidarity of our people. He said that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, our country is experiencing the most glorious days of history, a new period of development and revival. He said that restoring our territorial integrity and fully ensuring our state sovereignty is an exceptional service of the head of the country to our people and our independent state.
The head of ANAS congratulated the council members on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the glorious Victory in the Patriotic War and National Flag Day, which is a symbol of our independence.
He also assessed the holding of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change - COP29, which is considered one of the world's largest climate change events, as a historic event. He said that the organization of such a prestigious event in Baku is a clear example of the growing international reputation of our country.
Academician Isa Habibbayli, who said that extensive discussions on scientific issues will be held within COP29, pointed out that ANAS will be represented at a high level at the conference, as well as a number of meetings will be held at the Academy with foreign scientists and scientific organizations coming to our country. He expressed confidence that COP29 will bring greater influence to Azerbaijan.
Academician Isa Habibbeyli, who also provided information about the international organizations that ANAS has become a member of in recent years, said that the Academy was elected a member of the International Scientific Council, the Association of Asian Academies of Sciences and Scientific Societies, the Eurasian University Union and the Inter-Academic Partnership Association in 2023-2024. The President of ANAS also informed about his participation in the meeting of the General Assembly of the Association of Asian Academies of Sciences and Scientific Societies held in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. He said that an international scientific conference on "Digital transformations and perspectives in science" was organized within the framework of the General Assembly, and the elections of the management team of the Association of Asian Academies of Sciences and Scientific Societies for 2027-2030 were held. He said that he met with the presidents of the Philippine and New Zealand Academies of Science and Technology during the visit and discussed mutual cooperation issues.
The head of ANAS emphasized that the development of electronic science is one of the important directions of complex reforms implemented in the Academy in recent times. He pointed out that the formation of the electronic state, digital transformations, and the introduction of new management technologies and systems, which are important directions of the state policy implemented by President Ilham Aliyev in our country, necessitated the implementation of complex measures in this field in ANAS as a priority.
