The second volume of the book "Epics of Lovers", which is planned to be published in three volumes, has been printed with an elegant layout.
The book was prepared for publication by Professor Maharram Gasimli, Chairman of the Association of Lovers, Mahmud Allahmanli, Doctor of Sciences in Philology, Musa Nabioglu, Honored Culture Worker, Altay Mammadli, Doctor of Philosophy, Docent in Philology, and Aynur Khalilova, editor.
Musa Nabioglu said that this volume contains eleven epics ("Yetim Aydin", "Asli and Karam", "Gul Mahmud and Nigar Khanum", "Masum and Dilafruz", "Ali Khan and Pari", "Mohammed and Gulendam", " Najaf and Parizad", "Shahzade Abulfaz", "Seyyad and Saadat", "Abdulla and Jahan", "Ashiq Huseyn and Reyhan Khanum") took place.
The epics were presented to the general public in the "Saz-soz majlisi" program, and then they were written down from the language of the lovers and included in this publication. The main goal in preparing the volume is to try to make ashiq epics take a large place in the repertoire of contemporary ashiqs, to bring new life and new breath to our epics. The special feature of this publication is that each of the epics is recorded from a live performance. Reductions and interventions during the Soviet era were not allowed, Sufi-Dervish symbolism, as well as religious and traditional images and sayings were not touched, the folk color and the main features of Ashiq lexicon were preserved and the structure of the epics was kept as it was.
