On October 17, the presentation of the Jafar Jabbarli Award was held at the Central Scientific Library of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences with the financial support of the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The event was organized within the project titled “Jafar Jabbarli - A Great Devotee of Our Literature” by the Public Union for Assistance to the Development of Culture, Science, and Education named after Jafar Jabbarli.
At the presentation ceremony, honored cultural worker Gamar Seyfaddingizi provided information about the new books and projects published on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the prominent writer. She underlined that Jafar Jabbarly’s literary and journalistic work is multifaceted and profound. “The award is intended for those who have made exceptional contributions in promoting the works of the great playwright Jafar Jabbarli, in conducting research on his works, and in embodying the playwright’s theatrical creativity. Considering the richness of the writer’s work and his invaluable contributions to various fields of art, the award now covers more nominations”-she added.
During the event, a video clip was shown, reflecting the prominent playwright’s works in chronological order.
Subsequently, the Jafar Jabbarli award was presented to intellectuals in the categories of literary studies, literature, theater, and directing.
The President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, who was awarded the prize, underlined that Jafar Jabbarli made exceptional contributions to Azerbaijani theater and literature. The works of the prominent playwright remain relevant today and contribute to the development of the younger generation.
