ANAS Institute of Literature after Nizami Ganjavi held an event dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the People's writer Ilyas Efendiyev. People's writer Elchin and MP Gunay Efendiyeva, intellectuals from Kyrgyzstan, members of the mass media and others attended the event. First, there was a viewing of the exhibition consisting of the writer's works and books written about him.
Academician Isa Habibbeyli, president of ANAS, director of the Institute of Literature, opened the event with his opening speech. In his speech, he emphasized that Ilyas Efendiyev created literature that lived in the Soviet era, but remained outside of that ideology as much as possible. Although he lived in the Soviet era, he created national literature and proved to the people the possibility of writing works dedicated to his ideals.
At the event, Doctor of Philology, Professor Asif Rustamli, Doctor of Philology Vagif Yusifli and Doctor of Philology Sara Osmanli delivered a reports.
Director of Chingiz Aytmatov Institute of Language and Literature, Academician Abdyldajan Akmataliyev said in his speech that the works of well-known representatives of Azerbaijani literature in Kyrgyzstan, Bakhtiyar Vahabzade, Ilyas Efendiyev, Anar and Elchi, were translated and delivered to a wide audience. He also emphasized that scientists, researchers and translators in his country show great interest in Azerbaijani literature. He added that Ilyas Efendiyev's three novels were translated into Kyrgyz and published and received great interest. In his guest speech, he thanked Academician Isa Habibbayli for organizing the conference.
At the end of the event, People's Writer Elchin spoke on behalf of the writer's family and called it a good event because the conversation was about literature. He said that it was the employees of the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature who spoke highly of Ilyas Efendiyev's work.
Speaking about his father, he emphasized that his works are presented to readers with an open mind today without undergoing any changes.
