Professor Li Lei, member of the Executive Council of the Hong Kong Core Academy of the People’s Republic of China, Executive (Vice) Secretariat-General, Professor Raymond J. Wu and the Academy’s scientific staff members Feng Liu and Yan Zheng, who are on a visit to our country, visited the Institute of Literature of ANAS named after Nizami Ganjavi.
The guests got closely acquainted with the Chinese Culture Center operating at the institute. They were informed that the center's staff member, Nargiz Karimova, defended the first-ever PhD dissertation in our country dedicated to Chinese-Azerbaijani literary relations. It was also underlined that the Chinese language is taught at the center.
The head of the Department of Azerbaijan-Asian Literary Relations of the Institute of Literature, Professor Badirkhan Ahmadov gave information about the research conducted on Chinese literature and culture within the department he leads. He also said that a book on Azerbaijani-Chinese literary relations is prepared and conferences are held together with the Chinese scholars.
Professor Li Lei, member of the Executive Council of the Hong Kong Core Academy, expressed their satisfaction with the activities of the Chinese Culture Center and the Department of Azerbaijan-Asian Literary Relations. He also said that they are interested in cooperation with the Institute of Literature.
