ANAS staff watched the bplay "The Day Lasts More Than a Hundred Years"

ANAS collective watched the play "The Day Lasts More Than a Hundred Years" based on the novel of the same name by the world-famous Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aytmatov at the Azerbaijan State Drama Theater.

Before the performance, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, President of ANAS, Kayrat Osmanaliyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan, People's Artist Natig Aliyev, Rector of Azerbaijan State Art Academy, members and employees of ANAS Presidium visited the monument of outstanding Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aytmatov in Baku and cherished his memory.

Emphasizing that National Leader of our people Heydar Aliyev always pays attention to the creativity of Chingiz Aytmatov, the eldest son of the Turkic world, the head of ANAS emphasized that the outstanding writer was awarded the Order of "Friendship" by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, and he participated in the opening ceremony of the writer's monument in Baku.

Next, the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theater's creative director, Mehriban Alakbarzadeh, an Honoured Art Worker of the Republic of Azerbaijan, arranged a preview of the play "The Day Lasts More Than a Hundred Years" for the ANAS team. Participants in the collective performance assessment included staff members of scientific research institutions within the purview of the ANAS Humanities and Social Sciences departments, prominent scientists from the Academy, and representatives of the Seismological Service Centre.

Along with the management staff and ANAS staff, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Adil Karimli, Deputy Minister of Culture Farid Jafarov, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan Kayrat Osmanaliyev, author of the monument to Chingiz Aytmatov in Baku, Rector of the Azerbaijan State Art Academy, People's Artist Natig Aliyev, editor-in-chief of "Xalq" newspaper Aflatun Amashov, Director of the National Library of Azerbaijan Professor Karim Tahirov, a number of well-known scientific and cultural figures of the Turkic world and media representatives also watched the performance.

At the end of the the play's cast met with Academician Isa Habibbayli, President of ANAS, and Adil Karimli, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to snap a commemorative picture. 

One of the major accomplishments of the new chapter in Azerbaijan's history is the play written by Mehriban Alekbarzade, the Honoured Art Worker of the Republic of Azerbaijan and creative director of the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theatre.
