ANAS celebrated the140th anniversary of Muhammad Amin Rasulzadeh

ANAS hosted a scientific conference on "Prominent representative of national independence Muhammad Amin Rasulzadeh" on January 29, which was co-organized by the Presidium, Department of Humanities, and Department of Social Sciences.

According to ANAS, the ceremony commemorated the 140th birth anniversary of Muhammad Amin Rasulzadeh, one of the founding founders of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.

Academician Isa Habibbayli, president of ANAS, who spoke at the conference, stated that the rich heritage of political, social, and literary figures who played significant roles in Azerbaijan's history, their lives and creativity, and their transmission to future generations is defined as a strategic line in our country. He underlined that, in accordance with President Ilham Aliyev's Decree "On the Celebration of the 140th Anniversary of Muhammad Amin Rasulzadeh," an event plan has been established at ANAS, and activities honouring M.A. Rasulzadeh have already been conducted in two scientific institutes. He emphasized Mohammad Amin Rasulzade's literary brilliance, in addition to his contributions to the formation of Azerbaijan as an independent state. He regarded Mohammad Amin Rasulzade's collection of writings "Memories of a Turkish Nationalist's Revolution with Stalin" as a great work of historical significance. The president of ANAS further highlighted the contributions of late professor Shirmammad Huseynov to the research and promotion of Muhammad Amin Rasulzade's heritage. I. Habibbeyli underlined the need of re-engaging a major social and political person in research, delving deeper into his ancestry, exploring previously discovered actions, and finding his works. The report of Abid Tahirli, senior researcher of the Migration Literature Department of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi, on the theme "Founders of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in the publicism of Muhammad Amin Rasulzade" was then heard. According to the speaker, Muhammad Amin Rasulzade's writings about the founders of the AKP are useful for studying his creativity in depth, learning about the lives and activities of the figures he discusses, and enriching one's imagination about sociopolitical, literary, and cultural events of the time. He stated that his journalistic articles about the APC's founders, Nasib bey Yusifbeyli, Ahmed bey Agaoglu, Fatali Khan Khoyski, Ali Mardan bey Topchubashov, Uzeyir Hajibeyli, and others, play an important role in the outstanding socio-political figure Muhammad Amin Rasulzade's journalistic creativity, which can be described as a chronicle of the era.

At the event, Professor Nasiman Yagublu, associate professor Mubariz Aghalarli, associate professor Faig Alakbarli and the leading scientist of the Institute of Oriental Studies, employee Afshan Safiyeva delivered papers devoted to the event. The papers discussed Muhammad Amin Rasulzadeh's turbulent life, his role in the history of Azerbaijan's struggle for public opinion and independence, as well as his one-of-a-kind services against the Bolshevik regime, communist ideology, and his fight for his holy cause until his death.
